Doobs finishes in 69.
Buzzer still going well
Average stack is 145,000
Tables are now eight seated and on table 1 buzzer is in seat 6 and doobs
is in seat 7.
Buzzer is 17th position today fingers crossed that he will strengthen
this. After an attempted blind steal off buzzer he exclaimed "not in my
house" as he successfully defended his big blind!
Doobs has 58k and buzzer is on
179,800
I am very proud of the boys today they have done really well. :)
He had played exceptionally well and was in a great frame of mind and
really enjoying his poker.
Doobs masively damaged his stack against a full house although he just
got most of it back with aces. He is on about 50k
Jim is out his 8s vs A10, 10 on the flop and game over.
He had AJ vs. 10s, jack on the flop but the oppo hit a flush on the
turn.
Average chips are 69k and 155 players remaining.
Remaining players have less then average stacks.
Buzzer is doing the best so far his all in with Ks vs. AK doubled him up
nicely.
Doobs has done well to get back in the game he was all in per flop with
a pair of lovely ladies, there were two callers one with AK and the
other was A8. A fairly low board meant doobs is up to 28925..
Bengt has being playing well and has ended other tournament lives. His
stack seems a little damaged now with 25975, so hopefully a good night
rest will see him pick it up tomorrow.
Jim had a difficult start but has now got into his stride after what he
called a stroke of fortune. He has been grinding hard and is now on
29150.
I can't tell you how tired I feel so I have upmost respect for these
players it has been another very long day. It is a great achievement to
our players that have gotten this far.
Yesterday buzzer doubled up when his Q10d went up against aces, and he
made a straight on the river.
Today doobs doubles up with his Q10d against Jacks, a Queen on the flop
made him a happy man.
40 mins of play left for the day
EPT3 Grand Final
I am delighted to announce that we have a total of 706 players for the
EPT3 Grand Final, creating a total prize pool of 6,626,400 euros (more
than $8.8 million) and a top prize of 1,825,010 euros (more than $2.4
million).
Bengt is going strong, and doobs is sitting around the average stack
mark. Jim is still below average but is playing well.

Total prizepool is therefor 7180000 euros with a confirmed first prize
of 1.8 million euros.
There are currently 290 players left with the average stack being just
over 20k.
I am happy to report that all but one of our remaining 4 Betfair Poker
players now sit above that.
We have less than 10 minutes left of level 4, blinds are 100-200. Next
level is 150-300.

Good news that everyone is still in.
Hawko is slightly up, doobs' set of aces got beaten by a flush so he is
building his stack slowly after that damage. Jim had a few unlucky hands
which has left him short but its still only level 3 so not an issue yet.
Bengt has gone from up to down and now he is back level which is great.
Fraser is below average at the moment but feeling quite comfortable in
his avaitors!
Today representing team Betfair are our pro Bengt Sonnert, Jim Kerrigan,
kinghawko, doobs, and Fraser Dunphy(who final tabled last year and won
Betfair Poker's theedom pass)
Annoyingly though Hawko and Fraser find themselves on the same table,
bizarrely enough the same one as kanoute and Ben had yesterday.
Looks like there are more runners today. Numbers to be confirmed later
as well as the prize.
Buzzer has been playing some patient poker and makes it through to day 2
with just over 22k
Our 20 year old pianno has also held on and finishes day 1a with 19k
Average stack is just under 30k
Ben Grundy had an all in moment with AK hearts against AK off, only two
hearts on the board for a split pot. He has 18k.
Buzzer is holding on with about 7.5k.
Pianno is just under the average stack with 20k.
We have just finished level 4 now, and there are three more levels to
play. Average stack is about 19,000.
Buzzer needs some luck to get him through to day 2, he has about 9000
chips.
Pianno suffered a bad beat earlier when his kings ran into 4s, flop was
10,3,5 rainbow, turn 2, river A-ouch! This left him with 6k but he is
now back on 16k.
Kanoute(15-16k) is sitting on the same table as Ben Grundy(12-13k) where
all the players are still there and they all seem to have similar size
stacks.
There are currently over 700 runners and they are still taking
registrations. Starting stacks are 15000, and they are playing 7 levels
of 1 hour and 30 minutes with 15 minute break between the levels. By my
calculations that means play till 2am.
Team Betfair:
Our players today are as young as 20 and as old as 78.
Buzzer, Ben G, pianno, kanoute, metroo=Leslie, David "cas1no"
Next update at close of play
Monte Carlo itself is one of the most expensive places ever- lunch in
the hotel yesterday cost €26 for a tomato and mozerella salad! It is
beautiful though.
Most of our players arrived yesterday and I managed to locate most of
them propping up the free bar at the EPT launch party once they let
people in. The venue was quite a trendy bar called Jimmy's. However as
soon as it turned 9.30 the free bar was over they started charging €200
for a bottle of plonk I even asked in my best francais "vous rigole?" =
are you joking? When I realised they weren't I scrapped the order and
took the remaining players back to the hotel for a night cap there.
Today sees the first day of play. I am heading down to the registration
desk at 11 and will send updates when anything exciting happens.
