Buzzer out in 51 position

Aj vs qq vs 99

He does not hit and is out.
He played well but was outdrawn a lot today.

Ouch...

Buzzer called an all in of 22000 with pocket 5s vs A2, flop comes rag
2,2

Its just not his day.

53 players left

Buzzer damaged

Buzzer calls an all in with aces vs 77, and the other player hits a
straight

Doobs out on bubble

Doobs had KQ on the small blind and called the raise from the other
player. Flop comes J1010, doobs pushes the other player immediately
calls with his jacks.

Doobs finishes in 69.

Buzzer still going well

End of level 14

237800 for buzzer. Doobs aces just held up putting him on 80k now.

Average stack is 145,000

Day 3

Play has started for day 3 there are currently 85 runners left, of which
the top 64 will make the money.

Tables are now eight seated and on table 1 buzzer is in seat 6 and doobs
is in seat 7.

Buzzer is 17th position today fingers crossed that he will strengthen
this. After an attempted blind steal off buzzer he exclaimed "not in my
house" as he successfully defended his big blind!

Friday, 30 March 2007

End of day 2

88 runners left and doobs and buzzer are still in.

Doobs has 58k and buzzer is on
179,800

I am very proud of the boys today they have done really well. :)

...

Ok more accurate bengt update he lost about half his chips on a set
when someone had a higher set. 3 minutes later he was in a pot, on a
semi bluff chasing a flush draw.

He had played exceptionally well and was in a great frame of mind and
really enjoying his poker.

Jim out...

Buzzer is now up to 96,000 due to a big pot where he had a full house vs
a flush.

Doobs masively damaged his stack against a full house although he just
got most of it back with aces. He is on about 50k

Jim is out his 8s vs A10, 10 on the flop and game over.

Pianno out

Pianno out he had been holding on for ages and went out with 162
remaining.

He had AJ vs. 10s, jack on the flop but the oppo hit a flush on the
turn.

Average chips are 69k and 155 players remaining.

Remaining players have less then average stacks.

Bengt out

He went out whilst holding 100,000 the pot was over 200,000 in chips. He
is gutted will find out hand later.

Day 2

Bengt is on the same table as Greg Reymer. All our players are still in
but none are looking too comfortable.

Buzzer is doing the best so far his all in with Ks vs. AK doubled him up
nicely.

End of day 1b

End of yet another really long day of poker. We have 3 players who
survived today. So in total there are 5 members representing team
Betfair on day 2.

Doobs has done well to get back in the game he was all in per flop with
a pair of lovely ladies, there were two callers one with AK and the
other was A8. A fairly low board meant doobs is up to 28925..

Bengt has being playing well and has ended other tournament lives. His
stack seems a little damaged now with 25975, so hopefully a good night
rest will see him pick it up tomorrow.

Jim had a difficult start but has now got into his stride after what he
called a stroke of fortune. He has been grinding hard and is now on
29150.

I can't tell you how tired I feel so I have upmost respect for these
players it has been another very long day. It is a great achievement to
our players that have gotten this far.

Q10d...

This appears to be the lucky hand for our Betfair players.

Yesterday buzzer doubled up when his Q10d went up against aces, and he
made a straight on the river.

Today doobs doubles up with his Q10d against Jacks, a Queen on the flop
made him a happy man.

40 mins of play left for the day

EPT official news

Official announcement from the EPT.

EPT3 Grand Final

I am delighted to announce that we have a total of 706 players for the
EPT3 Grand Final, creating a total prize pool of 6,626,400 euros (more
than $8.8 million) and a top prize of 1,825,010 euros (more than $2.4
million).

Dunphy out

Team Betfair suffered another loss just now. I missed the moment but
Fraser said he made a bad call.

Bengt is going strong, and doobs is sitting around the average stack
mark. Jim is still below average but is playing well.

Estelle
Betfair Poker

Leslie - metroo

Wants me to inform you that he is actually the young age of 73 rather
than 78!

After the break news...

Unofficial starting figures for today are 389. Add that to the 329
yesterday and we have 718 runners in this EPT which makes this the 2nd
largest tournament outside the USA.

Total prizepool is therefor 7180000 euros with a confirmed first prize
of 1.8 million euros.

There are currently 290 players left with the average stack being just
over 20k.

I am happy to report that all but one of our remaining 4 Betfair Poker
players now sit above that.

We have less than 10 minutes left of level 4, blinds are 100-200. Next
level is 150-300.

Betfair Poker

Hawko out

Gutted Hawko out his aces ran into AQh and they hit a flush.

:(

Update

Still waiting on final number of runners and prize pool from EPT.

Good news that everyone is still in.

Hawko is slightly up, doobs' set of aces got beaten by a flush so he is
building his stack slowly after that damage. Jim had a few unlucky hands
which has left him short but its still only level 3 so not an issue yet.
Bengt has gone from up to down and now he is back level which is great.
Fraser is below average at the moment but feeling quite comfortable in
his avaitors!

Day 1b

After a 3.40am finish yesterday I find myself back in the poker room for the
day1b.

Today representing team Betfair are our pro Bengt Sonnert, Jim Kerrigan,
kinghawko, doobs, and Fraser Dunphy(who final tabled last year and won
Betfair Poker's theedom pass)

Annoyingly though Hawko and Fraser find themselves on the same table,
bizarrely enough the same one as kanoute and Ben had yesterday.

Looks like there are more runners today. Numbers to be confirmed later
as well as the prize.

Ben out... Two survive

Ben Grundy out he was short stacked and pushed all in with kings. Two
callers one had aces the other kings too. Unbelievably the player with
the other kings hit a flush. And all this happened with only four hands
left to play.

Buzzer has been playing some patient poker and makes it through to day 2
with just over 22k

Our 20 year old pianno has also held on and finishes day 1a with 19k

Average stack is just under 30k

Wednesday, 28 March 2007

Buzzer doubles up

Buzzer pushed with 4500 chips with Q10d only to find himself against
Aces. The poker gods gave him a break and he made a straight.

Kanoute out

Kanoute out his AK Suited went up against Aces.

Ben Grundy had an all in moment with AK hearts against AK off, only two
hearts on the board for a split pot. He has 18k.

Buzzer is holding on with about 7.5k.

Pianno is just under the average stack with 20k.

Latest 2 down :(

There were 329 runners who started on day 1, and there are 261 still in.
Sadly though we have lost cas1no and metroo. Cas1no had his aces
cracked. Oppo called preflop raise with kq, queen on flop and king on
river. Boo. metroo aka Leslie, flopped a jack high straight only for his
opponent to hit his queen high straight on the turn.

We have just finished level 4 now, and there are three more levels to
play. Average stack is about 19,000.

Buzzer needs some luck to get him through to day 2, he has about 9000
chips.

Pianno suffered a bad beat earlier when his kings ran into 4s, flop was
10,3,5 rainbow, turn 2, river A-ouch! This left him with 6k but he is
now back on 16k.

Kanoute(15-16k) is sitting on the same table as Ben Grundy(12-13k) where
all the players are still there and they all seem to have similar size
stacks.

Shuffle...

... Up and deal has just been spoken. The room is amazing, with stunning
sea views and really light and airy-bit of a novelty for the poker
players! Although they are now shutting the curtains!

There are currently over 700 runners and they are still taking
registrations. Starting stacks are 15000, and they are playing 7 levels
of 1 hour and 30 minutes with 15 minute break between the levels. By my
calculations that means play till 2am.

Team Betfair:

Our players today are as young as 20 and as old as 78.

Buzzer, Ben G, pianno, kanoute, metroo=Leslie, David "cas1no"

Next update at close of play

EPT grand final

I am currently in Monte Carlo looking after our qualifiers
from Betfair Poker who are about to play in one of the largest poker
tourneys in Europe, buy in is €10,000 and last time I checked there were
640 runners. First place will see one lucky individual take home over $2
million.

Monte Carlo itself is one of the most expensive places ever- lunch in
the hotel yesterday cost €26 for a tomato and mozerella salad! It is
beautiful though.

Most of our players arrived yesterday and I managed to locate most of
them propping up the free bar at the EPT launch party once they let
people in. The venue was quite a trendy bar called Jimmy's. However as
soon as it turned 9.30 the free bar was over they started charging €200
for a bottle of plonk I even asked in my best francais "vous rigole?" =
are you joking? When I realised they weren't I scrapped the order and
took the remaining players back to the hotel for a night cap there.

Today sees the first day of play. I am heading down to the registration
desk at 11 and will send updates when anything exciting happens.

Gig Review- The Answer

The other day I went to a gig at Bloomsbury ballroom, to see a band called "The Answer"- normally I would not be into such cool music- but I have friends determined to upgrade me from Queens Greatest Hits and the Immaculate Collection by Madonna. In fact the last five years with my partner I have found myself on a music education course going to festivals and gigs, all I ever seem to do is homework on my i-Pod and as result I am now on the edge of being down with the kids. So much so I am going to see a band who I only heard of last week called the "Cold War Kids" apparently they are very cool.

Anyway back to the gig on Friday, "The Answer" are a rock band and the lead singer is very well backed by his talented band, seeing them live left me in a happy place and I who never boogy, jigged away merrily for their set. My favourite song of theirs has to be "Under the sky"(click for U-tube link) and they are really great live. I am not normally taken this much but at an intimate gig its hard not to get excited about a band with huge potential.

Remember you heard it here first- for more info on "The Answer" go to http://www.theanswer.ie/ they will be big and are rated as 5 stars on i-tunes which is pretty good.

Hello.....

....and welcome to my blog.

I decided to start writing a blog to keep one step ahead of my mother who is fast becoming more Internet savvy than me- so upon my friends recommendations I signed up to face book but that was so yesterday. I want a space to write about what I like when I like without my lovely fellow rugby girls tagging photos of Rhinos and saying that it looks like me, or telling me that my jokes are not funny when they are clearly hilarious...yep I just want to write about me.

Actually this blog will be less about me and more about my experiences. e.g. gigs I go to, Rugby games I play in and Poker (that I play and watch). So bear with me, I will try and make it interesting and informative for all of you.

Enjoy :)
